The Macon Hero Award's Mission
Every day, first responders and law enforcement officers in Macon run toward danger so the rest of us don’t have to. Most of the time, no one sees it. The Macon Hero Award is McArthur Law Firm’s way of saying thank you.
Now in its third year, the award honors a first responder or law enforcement officer whose courage and dedication have made our community safer. This year’s honoree will receive a $5,000 prize. It’s a small way to recognize a big commitment, and to support the work they do every day. Last year, we were proud to honor Bibb County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Commander Jesse Thompson as our second Macon Hero for his outstanding service to public safety.
Know a hero? If there’s a firefighter, EMT, paramedic, police officer, deputy, or dispatcher who has made a difference in your life or in our community, we want to hear about them. Nominations are open through November 27, 2026.
